Ward -- I had been planning to drive down to NJ (Morristown area) to visit my mother on Saturday. Had this storm come up in, say, January, I'd have gone, dealt with the snow, and known that the plows were on the trucks and people had found the key to the salt storage sheds. But, coming as it did in October, and even with the substantial warning, I knew that the state(s) and municipalities wouldn't have their acts together. So I stayed home....and very glad that I did.
