From Reuters a good article on the trade dispute.

I'm thinking that part of the fight is to establish precedent when a different model comes out and they do compete head-to-head.

If Delta paid $25 million per, that would be just under $33 million Canadian.

But no one would every forget to convert the currency.

Well, this battle is perhaps still (sorta) going on between Boeing and Airbus.

In the 80's, when Northwest wanted to replace their B-727 fleet, most pilots wanted the B-737 or upgrades.

Nope, the Airbus A-320 offer was too low for our BOD to reject. A few of our BOD members (not for the record) noted that if the French, English, and German taxpayers wanted to help us fly their A-320, ...well we did just that.

Airbus noted that Boeing was being (indirectly) helped by oversized defense contracts, which did not lower their price on the 737 as I recall.

Regards,

Dux -off to DCA and Virginia tomorrow. Somehow back to Tucson on January 1st. Perhaps one brief BP visit after our brief return to MSP end of the month. Hmm, flying on an old DAL MD-80 tomorrow, and an A 320 on the return.
