Perhaps one of the touch points will say "fly safe visual approach to SFO and land".

Ops, cheap shot -

Regards,

Dux

Right above "confirm hotel room" and "order flowers for wife's birthday".

Dux -- Don't laugh. I'm about to upgrade the software in my navigator/GPS to a release that computes a visual approach with 3d glideslope to any runway in the database...fully couple-able to the a/p. Yeah, it can get you into trouble with close-in obstacles, but some airlines might like it!

"Touchscreen" - or as they say in some car forums: "Smudgescreen"

All of the FMS systems I've flown (CRJ/737/757/767) do that though most CRJs don't have the VNAV to couple to it vertically.

That was one of the strange things about Asiana-SFO. They briefed a LOC-vertical speed approach. They should have planned a LOC-VNAV approach.
