Not yet. Thinking about it for one laptop - maybe two. I think our iMac is too old to run it. Sierra is the first release in a long time where they removed some older machines from the supported list.

Here's a good review: http://arstechnica.com/apple/2016/09/macos-10-12-sierra-the-ars-technica-review/

Anything older than this list of computers won't run Sierra (but the current OS will still run fine, and will stick get security patches):

MacBook (late 2009 and later)
iMac (late 2009 and later)
MacBook Air (2010 and later)
MacBook Pro (2010 and later)
Mac Mini (2010 and later)
Mac Pro (2010 and later)

Some of the more interesting features of Sierra are limited to an even smaller sub-set of the machines above:

If you want to use any Continuity or Continuity-adjacent features—Handoff, the modern version of AirDrop, universal clipboard, Apple Pay on the Web, and more—the hardware requirements get more specific. Basically you need something with Bluetooth 4.0 support, a list that includes:

MacBook (Early 2015 and later)
iMac (Late 2012 and later)
MacBook Air (Mid 2012 and later)
MacBook Pro (Mid 2012 and later)
Mac Mini (Late 2012 and later)
Mac Pro (Late 2013)

I expect I'll upgrade my primary personal laptop (a mid-2012 MacBook Pro) shortly. Assuming that works smoothly for a week or so, I'll do my wife's MacBook Pro. My iMac is too old. Sometime after that, I'll probably ping Randy to upgrade his iMac. :)

John

Go ahead - we're right behind ya <g>

Seriously, please let us know how it goes. I'm not a fan of the iOS version, but it's hard to be a holdout for long.

Doing a little research, I see that my Canon printer/scanner (PIXMA drivers/software) are not yet updated, and are known to have issues, so I'll happily keep waiting.

Installed it this past Monday. Other than having a Siri icon around, it's been pretty smooth, so far. I always wait for the little hidden gem of an Apple glitch to pop up.

Best,
Andy

You might want to check the Siri settings. On the iPhone, Siri bypasses a
locked screen by default so you see messages, etc. with the screen locked.
I.e., you can give Siri commands while the screen is locked. The phone
version of Siri has a setting to forbid bypassing a screen lock.

I don't know about OSx v. Siri, but it's worth checking.

Ray,
When I return from my latest little adventure, I will take a look.

Thanks,
Andy
