Is anyone using the Acronis True Image WD Edition on their My Book external drive? I just purchased the 3TB version.

Bill

Acronis on My Book External Drive [Re: Bill Bridges - 9S1]

I use DriveImage XML from http://www.runtime.org/ It's free for personal
use. They have other disk utilities as well. I use it to image my systems'
boot drives. I have recovered several times with no issues.

I was sufficiently disappointed with another Acronis product that I don't use
any of their stuff.

After Symantec Ghost failed me for a project, I use Clonezilla. However, it requires booting to it's own OS. It can't run under Windows.

Using 2015 version with a My Book Duo 8TB under Windwoes 7 and works adequately. My techie set it up and it works is best I can say. Had to retrieve a few files at various times and they were there to be had. <shrug>

I am turned off from Acronis.

I had the 2012 version, and when I tried to install Win10, it would not uninstall.

And Acronis declines to support any products over 3 years old.

So, no more Acronis products for me.

Terry,

Did you try the WD addition that is available from WD?

Bill

The products work well, but this you must pay to upgrade or will provide NO support does not fly with me.

It is worse than that. I have a couple older versions that when purchased, made no mention of any time limits or expiration. But after a few years they just stopped working. I could recover, but no longer make new backups. I am done with Acronis.
