Login attempt limit OS X?
      #419671 - 12/23/15 06:50 AM

Anyone know of a way to do the Windows equivalent of the account lockout threshold with account lockout duration in Windows 7, in OS X Yosemite?

Done some searching (a bunch o' searching), the only thing I found was a useless DoD .xls(!) link for best security practices on OS X (it opened in Numbers on the Mac though <g>). That didn't give any info on how to accomplish anything, that I could see.

Tia,

jb

Sorry - I don't. I did a quick Google search, and didn't find anything either. The only think I could think of is to join a Mac to a Windows Active Directory domain, but that is probably WAY overkill for what you would like to do ( step one, create a Windows AD domain on a Windows server... :) )

I think there may be some freeware Linux-based stuff that will emulate a AD domain. But I suspect any kind of server is overkill for what you want.

John, why ever would you think that'd be overkill for me? <G> Thanks for taking the time to check it out...
