Enroute to NZAA from PHNL with a refueling stop in NSTU. This is a B707-300C freighter.

The CIVA INS. It needs updating, but with no DME stations in the middle of the South Pacific it will be a while.

Randy and Dux, any of this look familiar. :-)))

I should have probably asked before, or you've posted it and I missed it, but what are you running that these things are coming from?

Scott,

Basically it's FSX.

My computer is:
Motherboard - Asus P8Z77-V Pro
CPU - Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz Quad Core
Ram - 4 x Kingston DDR3-1600 8GB (16x256M IC)
Video Card - Asus Geforce GTX 660 2GB
Monitor - 40inch Benq
Operating System - Windows 7-64 bit.

The airplane in this picture is the Captain Sim B707 with the CIVA INS add-on (freeware) with the Active Sky Next weather engine.

If you need some more information, just let me know. I'm about to change to Prepar3d from LM which is an offshoot of FSX.

FSX is a good platform and with add-ons being actively developed.

Yep -an older Boeing cockpit. Only flew briefly as a FE on the 707 at Northwest and the Pan Am interchange. I seem to remember that we would put the gear handle back in the middle -but not sure of that.

Cockpit stuff looks a lot like the B-727 and even new B-737 aircraft. Does not look like the B-757/767 and probably not the B-777/787.

Good thing that you don't have the real motion to practice dutch rolls.

Regards,

Dux

Getting and keeping the fuel balanced appears to be the toughest part of the FE's job.

Yup, does, tho we used triple mix. Reminded me of why I told one F/O "you can touch anything you want to below the glareshield cuz I'll be able to fix it - but if your hand ever gets above the glareshield, I'll personally KILL you!"

Reminded me once again why I liked triple mix, 2 votes out'a 3 votes wins but double mix, who's to say which one is right? I went with 2 INSs once between Osaka and Honolulu to avoid a curfew - but I didn't like it one bit!

best, randy
