MS office stuff continues to run normally when moving from W7 to W10. I did it.

I think that would depend on what version of Office you have. If you're running a really old version, it may not be supported. I'm not sure if it quits or not.

I have heard that, but I am using my Office programs with 10 on two computers without any issues.

As long as you're staying with the same number of bits (32 Vs. 64), I don't think there's that big a leap from Win7 to Win10. I'm not aware of any new thing that was added that would break most programs. (Things that dig deep like AV is a different story.)

One of the bigger changes was that Program Files was no longer the private scratch pad of programs. But I think that rolled out some time during XP and really enforced in Win7.

The other big thing is that 64-bit programs won't run the old 16-bi programs. And with Win7, 64-bit became quite common if not mainstream.
