Joystick for X-Plane
      #365470 - 03/24/13 12:20 AM

I've been thinking about trying X-Plane again, suggestions on a good stick? Also, before I get real cranky trying to find drivers, I have an old CH yoke/pedals set, would the yoke work with X-Plane (if I can find drivers)?

Tia,

You might go over to AVSIM. They have a X-Plane section. I don't do X-Plane. My joystick is the Saitek X52.

Thanks Bill, been looking around, including Avsim, in general, Saitek seems to be what folks have. I have a full paid version of X-Plane here, not sure what version, maybe 8, thought I might play with it on the recently freshened XP box. Not gonna happen though: booted it today, doesn't recognize my vid card :-( It's been running great since the re-install/new drive, that's where I've been using FSX, don't know what happened, overnight. Un/re-installed the drivers, jiggled the card, no joy. That's two boxes in about three weeks (a Dell XPS that really does appear dead). Other than the video deal the box is fine, maybe I'll have a better idea tomorrow <shrug> Guess ordering that HP box wasn't a moment too soon, but it's still not going to ship until April 4...

If I posted what just fixed the XP box issue I doubt anyone wold believe it. I may though, in Hardware, man, I've seen some odd s***, this one takes the proverbial cake ;-)

Later....Fixed, details in Hardware.
