Jeep Rubicon

Will be trading in my 2009 Loaded Red Jeep Rubicon unlimited (4dr), unless I sell it before new Pickup arrives. 15k miles, purchased 3/09. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, should have bought what I wanted originally...which was another P/U. It also has a transferable extended warranty.

PM or email

Utterly love my '09 Jeep Sahara Unlimited; sorry that your Rubi didn't fit your needs.

Best,
Andy

Bought an 07 Rubicon in Houston and after towing it to Tennessee, sold it to a neighbor. Had 5000 miles on it. After spending a month in Colorado I wish we had it here. Have done about 1500$ damage to our Surburban on backcountry roads. A Surburban is NOT an off road vehicle.

4WD does not make an off road car or truck.

My '03 Yukon XL (Suburban in GMC clothing) has done me very well, including running the sand dunes in Michigan (jumps several feet in the air). It is a 3/4 ton model though, that might help.

The approach angle is very good. The ground clearance is fair to good. The departure angle is the problem, very shallow. So the BANGs you hear on really bumpy off road excursions in a Suburban tend to come from waaaaaay back there by the Class III hitch, or from under the middle of the chassis.

Ours finally packed it in at 186,0000 miles and 14 years, with failure of the original transmission. That and wheel bearing/U-joint work would have exceeded the residual value of the truck by rather a lot, so we just donated it to a local nonprofit.

The transmission did still have 1st and 3rd gears... but not R, 2, 4... so if I were more confident I could drive it and *never* nose into a situation where I would need reverse, I might have just kept it.

Be well,
-Jim

The low hanging plastic crap is the problem on the newer models.

The Rubi has a small rock rail along the sides, unlike the other Wranglers, which have side steps that are much lower.

Looks like the P/U will arrive early this week, so to the dealer it goes.
