Does anyone use paper Jepp charts anymore?
      #375299 - 08/18/13 12:19 PM

I've got three binders (2 leather, 1 plastic) that I don't use. Hate to toss them but not sure if anyone uses them anymore. Free to anyone who wants them.

Jon

Not many.
10 years ago, you could sell the binders on Ebay.

Hang on to them long enough and someone will want it for historical interest.

Hi Jon.....I've got about 8 or 9 of those binders, guess I'll hold them for the antiques market. Mostly I just print what I need for departure/destination/alternate from the electronic subscription.

Flyin' much lately?

Seven ring binders are not really a hot item these days. I've got about a dozen oif you find a market.

Jon,
Despite a ton of electronics, including a MFD, dual GPS's with approaches and 3 EFB's on my iPad, I still carry paper for my intended destinations. Sometimes it's just fun to pull out a paper chart and look stuff up.

Best,
Andy

P.S. Of the three EFB's, ForeFlight is the best followed by FlightGuide with Jepps' a very, very poor third.

I still use paper charts. I guess it's because I'm an electrical engineer and don't trust electronics.

My son, while working in the IT department of a bank, said the same thing about online banking!

I like non-battery powered backups.
I also like to spread the charts out on a big table and look at what to expect on a long trip. It really sucks that TFR's don't appear on them by magic ink.

The only reason I trust online banking is Regulation E.

Good for consumers.
NOT GOOD for SMALL - or other - businesses....
If your business gets hacked, you are on your own....

So, I do ZERO electronic banking......
