So why are you selling your favorite airplane? Why not sell the one that you don't like as much?

Well, the other one has four seats and does 140 knots...alright, alright, 135. <g>

My wife, smarter, better educated and very practical regards the Arrow as transportation and the Aeronca as an indulgence. Which is, of course, absolutely correct.

Okay, okay. Let me rephrase: On advice of counsel, I am offering this fine antique aircraft.

Did that Chief originally have 65 hp? I learned in a Champ with 65 hp and it sure would have jumped off the ground and climbed with 108 hp.

Yes. 65 hp. The "Super Chief was a factory 85hp version. There is an STC for either the O-235 like mine, or a Continental O-200, which is probably better as it is 100# lighter.

Mine will climb at "unaccceptable" deck angles, and gets airborne in about the time it takes to feed in the power. Cruise...not much difference.

I'll deliver<?>

<Laugh>

That might be one of the few trips that would take longer than flying an R-22 across the country.

But it WOULD be fun.

(Anne, can I interest you in an RV-12? - 5gph at 130mph with more room and load capacity than a Robbie <g>)
