Nice to hear Tom. I know you've been noodling it for some time. Lookin forward to a ride; I've never been in an E Baron. You seem to seemlessly transition between singles and twins--good on ya.

Best,

Dave

Dave, thanks so much for you help. I loved getting to fly your P-Baron -- great plane. I just couldn't make myself pull the trigger on the 58P, and this well-equipped E55 with the IO-550s popped up on Beechtalk, so I jumped on it.

Now I have to look for the right manufacturer and installer to put air conditioning in it. Yeah, I know. A P-Baron comes with A/C.

I'll bring it over to ADS for you to fly sometime.

Looked at this again Tom and am reminded of what a nice bird that appears to be. You shouldn't have any problem cruising in the mid teens in this bird when the situation warrants with a nice lite machine that trues out as fast as the P-Baron lower on lower fuel flow.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Dave

What a beautiful Baron!

I'm getting homesick for my 195 - it's been in upstate NY since October, being reskinned. Was tied down at Stillwater, OK when an ugly hailstorm came through and peppered a load of skins.

I've been thinking the same thing... the prices of Barons are way down. I will probably gravitate to a stretch Baron. Not sure though.

Here's an article on the A/C:

The Aircenter, Inc. Cool-Air™ system is an electrically
powered, environmentally safe R-134a air conditioning system
approved by STC for installation in the B55, C55, D55,
E55, 58 and 58TC Barons. The powerful
16,500 BTU system (as compared to 14,000
BTUs in factory air conditioning) uses the
same lightweight components that are standard
in the Cessna CJ-series jets—totaling 64
pounds, mounted aft of the rear baggage area.
A prototype that I examined about three
years ago was originally placed in the nose
baggage compartment, but Aircenter wisely
determined pilots did not want to give up nearly
one-third of the nose baggage capacity.
Two evaporator motors propel 400 cubic
feet per minute of cool air flow. That’s a ton
and a half of cold air—

Congrats on a beautiful plane.

Tony, thanks for the info on the AirCenter A/C. I have been looking at that, and the Keith unit. Nice that I don't have to do anything right now. Don't need the A/C for a few months.

Well, I'm building the squawk list that comes with each airplane purchase. Nothing big. Just "stuff."

Having fun. Flew it to Phoenix from Louisiana last Friday. Tried to get home on Monday. A wall of weather just east of Dallas got my attention. Heavy rain. Lightning running from the Gulf to Little Rock. SLD warnings at 8,000 feet.

Uhhhhh . . . no thank you. Made an ILS approach to a 500-foot ceiling at Addison and spent the night. Flew back in the sunshine on Tuesday.

Way too much fun.
