Compliant with the 2020 ADS-B mandate. Got ol' 30Tango out of the shop today, two-hour shakedown to Seattle tomorrow.

Looks great, Bill. Does the L-3 device have its own WAAS source (not sure the Apollo would work for that purpose)?

Must be one of the first Lynx installations. Enjoy.

WAAS, yes, a necessity, as you can see from the antique GPSs in my panel. I now have five GPS devices in my airplane, not counting the one on my phone and the Garmin automotive model in my luggage.

Don't know how many other LYNX are out there, but I know I am one of the first 1,000, because I got the proffered "free" antenna and install kit.

Two-hour flight to Renton today; I'll report later.

Make sure to reply with "Got 'em on the fish-finder" to all traffic calls now...

Larry -- If he does that, I'm inclined to put my head in a bag (a la Scalia's comment in his dissent today...hope it's a big bag if his head is in there, too....on second thought, I'd better get my own bag).

Naw, I know better; I don't see 'em until I see 'em.

I hadn't expected it to happen so soon, but:

This morning, enroute to Seattle, VFR at 8500. Around MMV I hear Portland Approach give traffic which sounded like me to some guy who was overtaking at our altitude. So I zoomed out and there he was: 6 o'clock and four miles at my altitude. Approach gives him a 20 degree left for traffic {good plan, I think). As he comes up to about 8 o'clock and two miles the controller gives him "resume your own" (an ambiguous clearance at best), and sure enough he seems to take a fairly radical turn to get back on his original route, and now he's 6 o'clock and 1 mile.

Rather than complain, I descended to 6500 and watched this 210 pass right down the center of my windshield as I passed 8000!

I can't assume he didn't see us, but there was certainly no mention of it by him or the controller.

I'm an ADS-B convert, as of today.
