Irv,

How is the signal strength? Usually when you can get the default IP address it is because signal is not strong enough, or some sort of interference. If you have a cordless 2.4 GHz phone, you might need to change the channel on your wireless setup, or replace the cordless with a 5.8 Ghz unit.

Speaking of that, when I've got my laptop in the living room where the signal is kinda weak, I have very, very poor connectivity when the microwave is running. I don't think the unit is leaking as much as it is just enough to wipe out the weak signal.

As mentioned, cordless phones or wireless video running in 2.4GHz used by you or your neighbors might have the same effect.
