Hell of a story. I don't know if I have the exact date... but I personally took the last U.S. Marines out of Danang.

On refugee trips, it got dicey, but nothing like that story.

I remember our loadmaster having to threaten refugees who wanted to bring their personal belongings on board... there was no room for luggage.

The World B727 operated regular scheduled flights up and down the coast in RVN. I use to see them all the time along with an occasional Pan AM B707 freighter.

Those of us who supported the RVN up north saw nothing on that flight that surprised us or that we hadn't experienced. :))

Dve S:

Well, it wasn't an airline, but my personal record was two monkeys (honest) and three people in a Cessna-172 one night. I filed for five souls on board. ATC asked about that, of course, and I explained. After that there was a pause and ATC asked, "Which monkey is flying the airplane?" I told him it was the woolly monkey. We could hear them laughing on their reply, but all they said was, "Cleared to..."

Admittedly, I lie a lot--but this story is true. I maintain it is a record for a C-172.

Well I remember (I was rescheduled in Narita) and was assigned to a B-747F flight to Tiawan. Load was 254 diary cows from Wisconsin. This was the last leg (ORD-ANC-Narita to a field in the Southwest of Tiawwan (I think the field -an ex military airport was called something like Koweshane?

All the cows were pregnant -6 to a crate, and all made it OK. Probably not a record since I think there were some other flights with cattle.

Regards,

Dux
