I should have said "suitable" hotels. :)

Yeah, your definition of suitable has to be a bit flexible. My minimum requirements are a reasonably comfortable bed, low bug count, hot water, and AC/heat.

Up there in the Beni we valued mosquito netting and raised floors (I hate anacondas and pythons).

Mosquito netting in some places. But having AC helps by not having anything open.

But have had a few places where there was, and I used, mosquito netting.

When I was younger, didn't have to get up once or more each night :). Netting was always a challenge to get in and out of without company. Some places the bugs were so think and loud, even if they weren't biting ya, the sounds was making you think they could.
