The Space Shuttle Enterprise 134k Tom Tyson
The Space Shuttle Enterprise mounted atop the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft stopped here at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs enroute from Edwards AFB to the Paris Air Show, circa 1981. Note the engine fairing on the tail. I believe this was the last time Enterprise was seen with this fairing in place.
1971 Schleicher ASW-17 186k Tom Tyson
This is a photo of my old faithful 1971 Schleicher ASW-17 (N111BG) open-class sailplane taken in New Mexico. Wing span is 20 metres (66') and best glide has been measured at 49.6:1 (which works out to just under one mile of glide per each hundred feet of altitude).

Four Naval aviators standing in front of an F4U (?). I believe these are members of Squadron VF-8 onboard the USS Bennington in the South Pacific in 1945. My father, John R. Cooper, is on the left. Any help identifying the other three pilots appreciated.

It shows Julian Nott during a two-day, 749 mile helium balloon flight from Albuquerque, NM to Clinton, MO. This picture was taken over the Texas/New Mexico border at about 10,000 feet -- and uploaded to AVSIG moments later. Flight dates October 6 to 8 2001. The remains of America's supersonic dreams. The mockup of the Boeing 2707 in a storage yard outside the south gate of the Kennedy Space Center on Florida Route A1A. This is on private property. It is disassembled, but all of the parts look to be there. It is in reasonably good condition as of January 1995.

Crashed CH-47 in Vietnam, 1968 82k Andy Dulay
My CH-47 crash in Vietnam. This photo also showed up in an issue of Look magazine, Circa 1968. The cause of the crash was a dual hydraulic failure at low level and high speed. We were inverted and traveling backward at about 50 knots by the time we hit the ground. Amazingly, nobody was killed, but everyone in the crew was injured. Photographer unknown.

This photo was taken in the fall of 1944 at the Jacksonville, FL NAOTC. My father, John R. Cooper, is second from the right. His logbook indicates that the pilots in this photo were members of the VF-5 squadron, and were taking advanced training in the F4U-1. Any help identifying the other five people in this photo would be appreciated.
