Sig III is Now Boarding!

To: Mike Overly

Mike, I tried to register. It asked me what city in NC did the Wright
brothers first fly in. I answered Kitty Hawk and it was not accepted.
(Actually, they flew *near* it.) What should I have answered?

Kitty Hawk is the winning answer, regardless. Sometimes the challenge question fails, so if you'll let me know what email address you'd like to register with via pm or mail I'll go rig the system.

In the meantime, here is a quick video tutorial to get you up to speed at the new place.

Unless the question changes, apparently.

It now wants to know: "In what way were the Wright Brothers related to each other?"

Fraternally is not the answer.

You're over thinking it. <g>

I'm pretty sure the answers are intended to be "stupidly simple" - but just offbeat enough to stump a bot.

But sometimes it just does not work, even with the correct answer. In my
case, Mike said Kitty Hawk was the correct answer, but when I used that I
still could not register.

I wonder if the answer was case sensitive.

Sounds right. In that case, it didn't work :-)

Kitty Hawk may be the answer Mike wants but they flew at Kill Devil Hills.

Sig III is Now Boarding!

But, Dick, that is not the purpose of the "random" question. It is
sufficient to ask something like, "How many colors are in the U.S. national
flag?" It does not have to be, "Who was the third guy off the Titanic?"

Hi Ward,

Umm . . . is white a color? Asking for a friend.

Ya, I got the easy question wrong. I noted that the Wright brothers were related as brothers. Sorry, not correct.

Dux

OK, gang. For the next three days and three days only, all human verification is gone. Try not to sign up with a yandex address and chances are I'll spot your registration :)

OK, I went to dev.avsig/forum and tried to register. On entering my name, it said that name was taken and went to the "forgotten password" logic. I was able to login normally; does that constitute having registered?

Ralph: Yes -- looks like you registered on 9/30/17.

I was about to write Kill devil Hills...then thought maybe Kitty Hawk...Googled it for best answer and it was about 50/50. Maybe it was between the 2?

Nope, just Google earthed First Flight...much closer to Kill Devil Hills...but, Kitty Hawk is the answer.

Or is First flight wrong....

How do I get there?

When I put in www.avsig.com, it redirects here.

Ward -

Here, at about page 306, or thereabouts, you can find the true answer in Orville Wright's own words: Kill Devil Hill

So, are we going to have the Triskadecanno Last Message Contest?

Thanks.

Just logged in to make sure I could. :)

But one interesting thing, if you make the window wider, the actual forum section does not get wider, the blue borders get bigger.

Right now, the New Since Last Visit is very narrow, so you cannot really see the useful words.

Might that be a function of screen resolution? It looks ok on mr laptop.

For any issues with Sig-III, I, for one, will be happy to no longer have to go through this super-klugy method of adding pictures to my posts.

Re: Sig III is Now Boarding!

There is a “View All” button located at the bottom of the “New Since Last Visit”. Press that and it fills the screen with all the new stuff.

That’s how I start every new visit.

Tom Charlton
