Server clock?

Is it just me or are the times for the posts out of wack. As in too far off to be wrong time zone?

Well, let's see...my last post was under "Carrier Operations 1953-1954", and it's time-stamped 8:11 AM, which is about when I posted it (MST). It's now 8:17 MST...let's see what time this one gets.

OK, I see the issue. I had entered my UTC time zone, but the server's clock is on EST. Since EST is already -5 UTC, I ended up being 5 hours behind.

Re: Server clock?

Looking at this a little more, I don't see how the forum software compensates for that fact that some people do daylight savings and some don't.

I can see how that might be a problem in Arizona, but how difficult is it in Area Code 808? And why would it matter now?

Re: Server clock?

Obviously I haven't been paying attention to the time stamp.

But as DST start/stops, the time is either right or goes off by an hour.
