Didnít know that Lacy was a ninety-seven guy. Tankers or cargo?

Tom, Lace was at the Van Nuys ANG outfit (Hollywood types, don't'cha know <g>) and I was here with the MN ANG unit. Both outfits received their C-97s from the active duty unit MATS (MAC) unit at Travis AFB when the USAF quit using them. Straight transports, C-97As and C-97Cs, IIRC. I remember flying one of theirs when we were recalled to active duty back in 1960/61 on that Berlin crisis recall. I do recall flying VC-97D models when I was still at SAC Hdqtrs at Offutt AFB and KC-97Fs and Gs when I was sent down to Savannah, GA to check out their crews in the GA ANG units down there.

Al called me a little while ago to tell me that he's gonna have Clay on the "World of Aviation" broadcast tomorrow night (Friday) on WCCO-830 radio, 2300 CST.

best, randy
